SIGNAL BOOSTER INSTALLATION

Installation steps for Mobile signal booster

Proper installation is half of a booster’s performance. These steps show how the device is installed and which mistakes weaken the signal or affect the network.

Before you start

Prepare these items and check these points first.

  • The unit, outdoor and indoor antennas, cables and power adapter.
  • Some signal, even weak, on the roof or near a window (test it with your phone).
  • An indoor spot for the unit that is dry, well-ventilated and near a power outlet.
  • A cable route from the roof to the unit location.
  • The direction of the network tower (using an app or by testing the signal in several directions).
  • Basic tools: drill, screws, cable ties and insulating tape for outdoor connections.

Installation steps

The order matters, especially not powering the unit before the antennas are connected.

  1. Find the strongest signal point

Go to the roof or the highest possible point and test the signal with your phone in several directions. The strongest point is where the outdoor antenna goes.

  2. Mount the outdoor antenna

Fix it on a pole or stable bracket and point the directional antenna toward the tower. Keep it above obstacles as much as possible.

  3. Run the cable inside

Run the cable from the outdoor antenna to the unit along the shortest route without sharp bends, and seal outdoor connections against water.

  4. Install the unit

Mount the unit on the wall in a dry place away from heat, and connect the outdoor antenna cable to the OUTDOOR / BTS port.

  5. Install the indoor antenna

Place it in the middle of the area that needs coverage (the ceiling is usually best) and connect it to the INDOOR / MS port.

  6. Keep distance between the antennas

There must be enough separation (ideally a concrete roof or more than 10 meters) between the outdoor and indoor antennas so the unit does not oscillate or interfere.

  7. Power on the unit

Only after all antennas are connected, plug in the power. The unit’s LEDs or screen show the signal status for each band.

  8. Test and adjust

Test calls and internet in different spots, and adjust the outdoor antenna direction or the unit gain if an alarm LED is on, until you reach the best performance.

Mistakes to avoid

The most common causes of weak performance or a damaged unit.

  • Powering the unit without the antennas connected can damage it.
  • Indoor antenna too close to or facing the outdoor antenna causes oscillation and interference.
  • Cable too long, coiled or sharply bent weakens the signal.
  • Outdoor connections not sealed against rain.
  • Installing the unit in a hot, humid or enclosed place without ventilation.
  • Choosing a unit that does not support your network’s bands.
Incorrect booster installation can interfere with the mobile network itself. That is why we recommend installation by a technician, which you can choose when ordering the device.

Frequently asked questions

Can I install the booster myself?

Possibly in small spaces if you follow the steps carefully, but technician installation ensures correct antenna alignment, enough antenna separation and the best performance.

Why does the unit show a red or alarm light?

Usually due to interference between the two antennas or an overly strong outdoor signal. Increase the antenna separation, reduce the gain, or change the outdoor antenna direction.

How many indoor antennas do I need?

It depends on the area and the number of rooms and floors; an apartment usually needs one antenna, while villas and warehouses need more with proper distribution.

Does the booster need internet or a SIM?

No, the booster amplifies the existing network signal directly and needs no internet or SIM.
